Sugarscape - Jan 7, 2012
And that's when I remembered that a few years before, in a grad school history seminar, I had read a book about the Rosicrucian Order (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosicrucianism) and thought how great it would be if instead of writing a term paper, ...

Complete Books of Enoch: 1 Enoch , 2 Enoch , 3 Enoch

by: Dr. A. Nyland
This is a NEW (2010) easy-to-read translation by ancient languages scholar Dr. A. Nyland and is NOT one of the many public domain translations of Enoch NOR IS IT A REWORDED PUBLIC DOMAIN VERSION of Enoch.
Great advances which have been made in ancient word meaning in the last twenty years were unknown to the translators of the public domain versions of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Despite the current trend for non-translators to reproduce public domain versions (both as is and disguised by slight rewording) as a commercial venture, be aware that such public domain versions do not take advantage of recent scholarship in word meaning or any corrections in translation.

Introduction to Rosicrucianism

Rosicrucianism uses symbolism to teach students about the secrets and inner workings of the universe. Rosicrucianism got it's name from it's founder, but also the etymology of the name Rosenkreutz is a key factor as well. In latin, Ros means Dew and Crux means Cross. Dew refers to the universal solvent sometimes referred to as Mercury. The goal of Rosicrucians is to turn Lead (the imperfect human) into Gold (the enlightened one). The Rose itself is symbolic for pure love which is a key to obtaining gold. There are many modern Rosicrucian orders that teach students the sacred knowledge passed down through the generations from Hermes Trismegistus. Hermes Trismegistus means Hermes Thrice the Greatest because he knew the 3 parts of the universe. This enlightened individual was the Egpytian God of wisdom and magic Thoth and Hermes the greek god of wisdom who served as a messenger between the Gods and man. Many of his teachings have survived past the ages and have presented themselves in a sect called Hermeticism. Rosicrucianism combines philosophy from all of the Ages from many periods of time stemming from Ancient Egypt, to Greece, Rome, Persia and even Tibet. Rosicrucianism presents a compendium of sacred knowledge that provides true insight to the purpose of humanity and the purpose of life. This is perhaps the reason why so many of the greatest people that have ever lived and are living are so heavily involved in these teachings. This is not a religion, but a philosophy ...

Rosicrucian, Baconian, & Occult Influence In American Ideals

Rosicrucianism is the theology of a secret society of mystics, said to have been founded in late medieval Germany by Christian Rosenkreuz. It holds a doctrine "built on esoteric truths of the ancient past", which, "concealed from the average man, provide insight into nature, the physical universe and the spiritual realm." It is symbolized by the Rosy Cross. Between 1607 and 1616, two anonymous manifestos were published, first in Germany and later throughout Europe. These were Fama Fraternitatis RC (The Fame of the Brotherhood of RC) and Confessio Fraternitatis (The Confession of the Brotherhood of RC). The influence of these documents, presenting a "most laudable Order" of mystic-philosopher-doctors and promoting a "Universal Reformation of Mankind", gave rise to an enthusiasm called by its historian Dame Frances Yates the "Rosicrucian Enlightenment". Rosicrucianism was associated with Protestantism and in particular Lutheranism. According to historian David Stevenson, it was also influential to Freemasonry as it was emerging in Scotland. In later centuries, many esoteric societies have claimed to derive their doctrines, in whole or in part, from the original Rosicrucians. Several modern societies, which date the beginning of the Order to earlier centuries, have been formed for the study of Rosicrucianism and allied subjects. www.urthnet.com
